Privacy
Orb Alchemy is a puzzle game made by the Unbeaten Studios team ("we", "us"). This page explains what we collect and why. In short: we collect as little as we can to run the game, and we never sell your data.
The website
The puzzles on the website need no account. Your progress, streak and settings are kept in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data clears them.
The website (not the app) also uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages are read, how people found us (for example from a search engine) and simple puzzle events such as a puzzle being started or finished. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives your browser and device type, your approximate location (worked out from your network address, which it does not keep) and the pages you view. It does not tell us who you are. If you visit from Europe or the UK we ask first, and it stays off unless you accept. It is always off if your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal, and anyone can turn it off at any time. Change your cookie choice
The app
- An anonymous account. When you first open the app we create an account with a random ID, so your levels, essence and power-ups are saved. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your leaderboard name. We give you a random name like "Alchemist 4821". You can change it. It is public, so please don't use your real name unless you want to.
- Game activity. Levels played, times, moves, power-ups used and scores, to run the game and the leaderboards.
- Invites. If you use a friend's code, or a friend uses yours, we store which account invited which, so we can give you both the reward. To stop people inviting themselves we also keep a scrambled form of your network address with your code. We can't turn it back into the address.
- Purchases. If you buy essence or remove ads, Apple processes the payment. We receive a record of the purchase (via our payments provider, RevenueCat) so we can add what you bought. We never see your card details.
- Ads. The free app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising identifier if you allow tracking when asked, and may collect other information as described in Google's ads policy. If you don't allow tracking, ads are less personalised.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase: hosts our database and game server.
- RevenueCat and Apple: in-app purchases.
- Google AdMob: ads in the app.
- Google Analytics: visit statistics on the website (not the app).
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete my account and progress. This permanently deletes your account, progress and leaderboard scores. Purchases can't be refunded from there; Apple handles refunds.
Children
Orb Alchemy is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
